Overview

The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 are designed to protect workers from injury resulting from exposure to noise.

To manage the risks from noise exposure and to comply with the regulations, organisations need to assess and control exposures. They also need to ensure that their workers understand the risks and have any necessary training.

If workers are at risk, organisations must provide suitable health surveillance to monitor any progression of injury and to provide feedback on the effectiveness of their exposure controls.

This one-day course provides an overview of the duties required under the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005, and gives practical guidance on how to control and manage noise risks in the workplace.

Learning outcomes

Delegates will be provided with information that will help them to:

  • Recognise, assess, and manage the risks from noise in the workplace
  • Know their duties under the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005
  • Identify what is required for a noise risk assessment
  • Know the hierarchy of noise controls
  • Describe the role of hearing protection
  • Understand the role of health surveillance in the prevention and monitoring of Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL)

What the course will cover
