Overview
This workshop will provide training on the data requirements for the GB approval of biocide active substances and products, focusing on identity, physicochemical properties, and methods of analysis under Regulation (EU) 528/2012, as applied in Great Britain.
The event will also include discussion on novel guidance available for specific biocidal products and active substances, such as Biocidal Product Families, carriers, and in situ generated active substances.
The training will be delivered by HSE regulatory specialists and will help attendees improve the quality of their submissions and understand how these will be reviewed by the GB regulator.
Learning outcomes
Delegates will be provided with knowledge and practical guidance to help them:
- Understand the GB BPR data requirements for active substances and biocidal products, particularly in relation to identity and physicochemical properties
- Identify key considerations and common challenges when preparing data packages for different product types (PTs)
- Apply principles of classification and labelling in line with regulatory requirements
- Gain practical insight into technical equivalence, including how to prepare and assess submissions for a Tier 1 assessment
- Understand requirements for methods of analysis for technical materials, formulations, and residue monitoring
- Interpret and apply novel and evolving guidance, including for Biocidal Product Families, carriers, and in situ generated active substances
What the course will cover
- Overview of the data requirements for products and specific issues with different product types
- Novel areas of guidance available for biocide active substances and products including Biocide Product Families, carriers, and in situ generated active substances
- Technical equivalence (presentation and workshop exercises)
- Classification and labelling
- Methods of analysis for the technical material, formulations, and residues monitoring
